Fairytale of Dreamland

Somewhere lurking in far away land, there was an extraordinary hill. It was hidden between the borders of two states. From three different towns, six pairs of wheels carried the three grrrls. They were on a mission to leave the city of rocks and steel to explore the green cushion of nature. Strapped onto their saddles and pedals, they were determined to ride with the wind and climb the magical hill.

Along the way, they saw many plantations. Flowers were blooming~! Fruit trees were bearing their fruits. Very little moving steels were spotted roaming on the roads. The grrrls felt safe even though occasionally they fell and stumble. They rode for several hours before reaching at the feet of the hill. From there, they had to go by foot, leaving their valuable rides in the middle of a palm tree plantation.

It was told that, once upon a time the hills were inhabited by wild cats. They would protect the hills from wicked humans. Slowly, witches and sorcerers convinced them that there are humans who are kind and they made a deal to let humans climb the hills and in exchange, the cats left their marks by leaving their tails behind so that the humans remember that the place is sacred to the cats. No one had seen any of the cats after the deal was made, but we’re sure that once in awhile when the humans are not in presence, the cats come out and rejoin their tails and danced underneath the glowing light of the full moon since it is nocturnal beings’ favorite time of the month.

Little did they know that the hill hold secrets never been told before. The mystical hill was covered with thick mist that came with the goddess of the forest along with some playful swallows. It was 12 noon when they reached the top, and they jumped with joy at their achievement. The mists shadowed the hill thus protecting them from the scorching sun and it seemed almost dawn or early morning. The cold weather dried their sweat and left the grrrls well rested.

The grrrls then felt hungry and it was time for them to fill their belly with food to replace the energy drained from the cycling. Luckily, they brought some delicious Shepherd’s Pie made with lots of love. They savored every drop of the pepper sauce from the pie. The swallows that flew around were intrigued as the grrrls were enjoying their meal. One of the feathered friends asked the grrrls “Would you be kind enough to share some of those delicious looking food in exchange for a secret only told to kind explorers?” The grrrls were more than happy to share their meal either way and the swallow told the story of a therapeutic waterfall, said by ancient herstory to heal pain and illnesses. The grateful swallow said; to find them is also to find the cursed fishes that were turned to steel by betrayal. The lovely fishes told the wrong people about the miraculous waterfall and ended up being cursed with black magic that made them unable to tell others clearly of the direction of the falls.

After saying thanks to the swallows, the grrrls had to head to the place of the mysterious fishes. They had realized that the journey of going down the hill was much tougher than climbing up. They had to walk slowly down as the strain was felt on their feet! Upon reaching to their beloved bicycles, they quickly rode off to find the poor cursed fishes.

It wasn’t long until they did find the metallic fishes, hanging sadly on the roof of a steel factory. The clink and clatter of metals could be heard as if they were the fishes cry for help. The grrrls called out, “Oh gentle fishes, we were sent by the kind swallows from the mystical hills as we heard to break your spell is also to find a healing waterfall, which would do well for our sore travelers’ foot. If you may kindly show the direction to the falls, we’ll be more than grateful to help you too”. Then one of the fishes let out a gentle tear of iron and wails “Head to the direction of north and find the house of the rainbow witch. Only she knows the spell that could free us and in return, she will show you the way to the healing waterfalls. You will know that you’re at her house when you see her rainbow cloths in her garden”

They head north to find the rainbow witch with colourful cloths. She was rescuing her magical cloths before they are washed away by the rain fairies. The grrrls sent their greeting and told their tales of journey to how they were told to meet her by the cursed fishes. The wise lady smiled and waves her hand and said “The fishes are now free, thanks to your compassionate hearts and they are swimming happily in the healing falls that you’re seeking for. Travel through the meadows of flower gardens and flying swans and you will soon find the magical falls you seek”.

Thankful, the grrrls hugged the rainbow witch and head to the path of the flower meadows. They’ve also followed the trails of the flying swans that it didn’t take long until they found the entrance to the enchanted falls. There were many people at the waterfall. They came from all over just to get cures for their pain and illnesses. There were many families too. Building their own fireplace to cook food, setting up their tents and mattresses, everyone had come to bond and be in one with Mother Nature.

The grrrls went down the waterfall and their weary bodies and spirit restored by strong massaging flow of the waterfall. The jet-powered water fell crushing onto their back and necks. After awhile you’ll feel the tingles on your skin as it breaks the toxin and tense formed by lactic acid in your muscles. What a sensational feeling! It didn’t matter that the water was as cold as ice. It suited the grrrls well as they were clammy and humid from cycling. The refreshing water was perfect!

Before it was time go home, they met a street magician who shares with them ice cream of flavors the grrrls desire. They enjoyed the lovely treat and soon enough cycled back home, saying goodbye to the fishes as they left.

That night they dreamt of fresh breeze and magnificent environment in the forests. Even though they didn’t get to stay so long, their hearts are now set to explore more of what nature does have to offer. The grrrls journey together is indeed a first but it is definitely not going to be the last. More fairy-tales awaits from the grrrls with brave hearts, loyal bicycles and a world for them to discover.
